Advice and guidance

02.06.2010

It is possible to obtain advice and guidance regarding export control from a number of authorities. In addition, the Confederation of Danish Industries provides comprehensive guidance for its members.

Good advice to the exporter

  • Apply in good time
  • Always make the sales contract subject to reservation for export controls. The majority of all exporters should have a standard reservation in all sales contracts to the effect that the product may be subject to export controls, and that the delivery therefore is subject to the granting of the export authorisation required. Thus there will be no question of any claim for damages.
  • Be careful when completing the application form. Make sure that all relevant boxes are filled in, and that all necessary documents are enclosed (for example, the end-user certificate must be written on the end-users original business paper). An insufficient application will delay the case consideration unnecessarily.
  • Consider carefully the enterprises exports and thus the enterprises need for export authorisations. Compare this need with the various authorisations that exist. Is it possible to use simplified authorisations or might an internal export control compliance program be an interesting option for the enterprise with a view to reducing the number of times that applications have to be submitted?
