Annual Declarations

The Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority will approach the relevant companies two times a year in connection with the preparation of annual declarations.

Two types of annual declarations
Each year, two types of declarations have to be submitted to the OPCW, one for activities in the previous calendar year and one for anticipated activities in the coming year. The declarations concern the activities in respect of production, processing, consumption, import and export of the scheduled chemicals.

Therefore, the Authority will approach the affected companies every year with a view to submitting annual declarations. Also, once a year the database on chemical companies which may be affected by the Convention is updated and a new questionnaire based survey is carried out with a view to identifying affected companies. A computer system processes the information obtained and produces the declarations on the basis of the standard models contained in the Declaration Handbook.

Deadlines
The Authority has to submit annual declarations to the OPCW on company activities in the previous calendar year at the latest on 1 April. The declarations concerning anticipated activities in the coming year must be submitted to the OPCW at the latest on 1 November with the exception of Schedule 1 declarations, which have to be submitted 90 days before the end of the year. The questionnaires are sent to the companies approx. 1 March and 1 October.
