The Industrial Sector
Three sectors stand out in particular in business policy because they are subject to special conditions:
- Shipbuilding
- The steel market
- Textiles and clothing
- The market on precious metals articles.
Shipbuilding sector
With respect to shipbuilding, the CIRR-for-ships scheme (Commercial Interest Reference Rates) is in operation, according to which the Danish Ship Finance provides loans to new buildings and to conversions of ships carried out at Danish shipyards.
Steel market
Importation of a number of products is subject to importlicensing which hovever is automatic i.e. there are no quotas except from Russia and Kazakhstan applications for import licences shall be made to the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority's licensing unit.
The market on precious metals articles
The market on precious metals articles is regulated partly by national legislation, partly by the convention on the Control and Marking of Articles of Precious Metals (currently 19 members).
